A pure and concentrated Saint Joseph, with notes of dark berries and violet, carried by an elegant granitic frame and fine tannins.
Saint Joseph 2024 Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin
This Saint Joseph 2024 follows the line of precise, contemporary wines shaped by Jean-Michel Gerin, a major figure of Côte-Rôtie who has applied the same rigour to his Saint-Joseph parcels in recent years. On these granite slopes in the northern part of the appellation, Syrah expresses itself here with a direct, intense and perfectly controlled style, true to the domaine's search for balance and refinement.
The 2024 vintage, marked by fine ripeness without excess, gives an aromatic and luminous wine. The nose reveals ripe but fresh dark fruit, lifted by violet, white pepper and a touch of smoke typical of granite soils. The palate is slender, juicy, carried by a very fine, almost silky tannin structure that underscores the purity of the fruit. The finish, fresh and spicy, extends the wine with much elegance.
A modern and refined Saint Joseph, ideal for discovering the Gerin style on an accessible yet ambitious register. Best enjoyed from today after light decanting, or cellar it for 5 to 8 years to enrich its complexity.
