Fine material and generous fruit from one of Burgundy's most respected vignerons, Sylvain Pataille.
Bourgogne 2023 Domaine Sylvain Pataille

Emerging from the meticulous work of Sylvain Pataille in Marsannay, this Bourgogne red 2023 reflects with precision the rigour and sensitivity of a vigneron who has become an unmissable reference in the Côte de Nuits. Far more than a simple regional wine, this cuvée receives the same care as the domaine's more prestigious appellations, both in the vineyard and cellar.

The Pinot Noir grapes come from carefully tended parcels farmed organically, with practices inspired by biodynamics, favouring moderate yields and optimal ripeness. Harvesting is done by hand, followed by unobtrusive vinification that respects the fruit and the vintage. Ageing in barrel aims above all at precision and balance, never masking the wine's natural expression.

The 2023 vintage offers a wine of luminous, entirely legible character. The nose opens with clean aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, accompanied by subtle floral notes and a delicate spice. On the palate, the attack is supple and juicy, carried by fresh, digestible structure. The tannins are fine, perfectly integrated, and the finish, direct and persistent, leaves a sense of purity and elegance.

This Bourgogne red embodies perfectly the Sylvain Pataille style, vibrant, precise wines deeply rooted in their terroir, privileging finesse over display. Approachable now, it will also age gracefully over five to seven years.

At table, it will accompany roasted poultry, white meats, mushroom-based dishes, bistro-style cuisine or soft-paste cheeses perfectly. Serve around 15–16°C to preserve all its freshness and brightness.

A high-level burgundy, sincere and refined, which constitutes a superb introduction to the world of one of his generation's most respected vignerons.
