A wonderful expression of small red fruits and spices.
I have been a fan of the G.D. Vajra estate for many years.
One of the first producers in Piedmont to convert their vineyards to organic and sustainable farming, they are known for crafting wines of terroir, fresh and complex, with no manipulation in the cellar.
The Barbera d'Alba 2023 Vajra is grown in the traditional way, from vineyards planted high on the hillside for the best sun exposure, allowing a gentle ripening of this delicate grape.
The result? A vibrant, fruit driven wine with lingering notes of sweet spices and fresh thyme, a delicious companion for any pasta dish (with a homemade tomato sauce, for example!).
Do let this wine breathe for a good hour before serving to reach its full aromatic potential. It will also develop nicely in the cellar over the next 3 to 4 years.
100% Barbera
