Beautiful citrus aromas mark this cuvée from Domaine Dominique Gruhier, with noble ageing. An elegant and energetic white from the northern Tonnerrois, expressing the mineral freshness of its terroir.
Domaine Dominique Gruhier has established itself as a major player in the viticultural renewal of the Tonnerrois, in northern Burgundy. Based in Épineuil, on hillsides marked by the Kimmeridgian marls typical of neighbouring Chablis, the domaine cultivates its vineyards in organic and biodynamic agriculture, with constant attention paid to soil life and the natural balance of the plant. This demanding approach aims to reveal with precision the fresh and mineral identity of these northern terroirs.
The Bourgogne Tonnerre 2024, made from Chardonnay, fully expresses the singularity of this still discreet area. The clay-limestone soils rich in marine fossils confer tension, brightness and straightness to the wine. The vinification, minimally interventionist, privileges the purity of the fruit and the readability of the terroir, with measured ageing that preserves the natural freshness of the vintage.
The nose opens onto aromas of fresh citrus, crisp apple and white flowers, supported by a subtle chalky note. On the palate, the attack is lively and precise, carried by a beautiful mineral framework. The material remains straight and well-balanced, with a saline and persistent finish that marks its Kimmeridgian origin.
An elegant and energetic white, ideal as an aperitif, with oysters, seafood, grilled fish or fresh goat cheese. To be enjoyed in its youth for its brightness, or kept for 3 to 5 years to gain in complexity.
