A fine introduction to the world of Francis Darroze's vintage Armagnacs, from the golden triangle of Bas-Armagnac.
The Domaine de Cantau lies in the golden triangle of Bas-Armagnac. The commune of Mauléon d'Armagnac has indeed produced great spirits for decades (Domaine de Jouanchicot, Domaine de Lusson, Domaine de Maupas). At Domaine de Cantau, the classic sands of Bas-Armagnac are accompanied by clay, a terroir known locally as boulbènes. The traditional local varieties, Folle Blanche and Baco, find their finest conditions here. Monsieur Guy Beyris worked this property for decades, consistently privileging Folle Blanche, the historic variety of Armagnac. This offers us a selection of several dozen different vintages, all aged in 400-litre casks from the Bartholomo cooperage and distilled using the alambics of Philippe Gironi.
