A Premier Cru of rare finesse and elegance from a prized high-altitude site in Vosne-Romanée. Ripe dark fruits, violet, mineral precision, and silky tannins.
Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Beaux Monts 2022 – Domaine Bertagna
On a rare parcel of less than one hectare, ideally situated between the Grand Crus Échezeaux and Richebourg, Domaine Bertagna crafts this exceptional Premier Cru. The Pinot Noir vines, rooted in light, stony soils, benefit from meticulous winemaking: rigorous sorting, a sorting table at harvest, partial whole-bunch maceration (30 to 50 per cent), and ageing in French oak, 50 per cent of which is new, for 15 to 18 months.
The 2022 vintage reveals a deep, purple colour. The nose opens onto ripe red and dark fruits — black cherry, raspberry, blackberry — then enriches with floral notes (violet), spice and a touch of damp stone. On the palate, the texture is dense and elegant: fine but present tannins, a well-defined structure and a prolonged finish, both refined and expressive.
A wine built for the long term, already showing elegance but destined to flourish fully over 8 to 12 years, or more.
