A pure mineral expression of Chardonnay, round and supple.
Côtes d'Auxerre Blanc Grand Roche 2023 Domaine Clément Lavallée
South of Chablis, Domaine Clément Lavallée brings into focus the chalky terroirs of Côtes d'Auxerre, geologically close to the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis. The Grand Roche vineyard sits on soils rich in marl and limestone, bringing tension, precision and mineral expression to the Chardonnay.
The luminous and well-balanced 2023 vintage reveals controlled ripeness while retaining freshness and drive. Careful vinification and ageing, mainly in stainless steel with work on fine lees, aims to preserve the purity of the fruit and aromatic clarity.
The colour is pale brilliant gold. The nose opens onto notes of lemon, fresh apple and crisp white fruits, accompanied by a floral touch and a subtle chalky note. On the palate, the attack is lively and precise, supported by beautiful mineral tension. The whole is well-balanced, with a fresh and slightly saline finish.
Serve around 10–11°C. It will pair beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish, light poultry or aged goat's cheese. Best enjoyed within 4 to 7 years to fully appreciate its fresh and mineral expression.
