Château de Léberon. Armagnac Brut de Fût 1989. Elegant rancio, walnut, beeswax, and living energy despite its age. A spirit for contemplation.
Armagnac Brut de Fût 1989 Château de Léberon
From an emblematic Bas-Armagnac estate, the Brut de Fût 1989 from Château de Léberon embodies the pure expression of a sun-blessed vintage, perfectly balanced. Distilled exclusively from Ugni Blanc and Baco according to family tradition, then aged in Gascon oak casks without reduction or filtration, it offers an authentic portrait of time and terroir.
The nose opens with remarkable depth: dried fruits, candied orange zest, elegant rancio, blonde tobacco, and the fine woody patina typical of long natural ageing. On the palate, the texture is ample and silky, carried by a still-vibrant energy despite the decades. Aromas evolve toward fresh walnut, beeswax, gentle spices, a whisper of cocoa, and an enduring finish with pronounced salinity, the signature of great artisanal Armagnacs.
This 1989 is a spirit for meditation, best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass, ideally around 18–20°C. At its peak, it can nonetheless continue to evolve harmoniously in bottle. A natural choice for collectors of aged Armagnac vintages seeking a spirit of character, expressive, complex, and deeply moving.
