Fresh and intense raspberry liqueur from Maison Jacoulot, with red fruit notes and subtle acidity. Artisanal and generous, lovely in a kir or with dessert.
The Raspberry Liqueur from Maison Jacoulot is the first red fruit in this Burgundy distillery's Prestige range, founded in 1891. A generous, velvety liqueur that captures the authenticity of the fruit in a precise balance between the natural, intense flavour of raspberry and controlled sweetness. Alcohol: 18% vol. Bottle: 70 cl.
Production
Raspberry is a particularly delicate fruit, prized for its aromatic intensity, the balance between sweetness and tart freshness, and its expressive ripe red fruit notes. Maison Jacoulot spent two years researching and testing dozens of varieties before selecting an exceptional European raspberry, chosen for its delicacy and subtle aromas. The liqueur results from lengthy maceration and careful blending, using the house's artisanal method: meticulous fruit selection and rigorous control of maceration time, ensuring perfect balance between aromatic power and sweetness.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red colour, bright and clear. The nose shows intense fresh raspberry and red fruit coulis, with a discreet vegetal note reminiscent of raspberry leaf. On the palate, the texture is velvety, the sugar well-judged, with a discreet and elegant alcohol presence. The finish is delicate, moving towards stewed red fruit notes, lifted by a subtle floral touch.
The house
Since 1891, Maison Jacoulot has specialised in distillation and the creation of liqueurs and spirits. Based in Romanèche Thorins, between northern Beaujolais and southern Burgundy, this family house produces marc and fine spirits from Burgundy, fruit spirits, liqueurs and creams on site. From the 1950s, Vincent Jacoulot's descendants expanded their expertise to fruit creams and liqueurs, drawing on Burgundy's rich culinary tradition.
Enjoying it
Drink neat, well chilled, or over ice. In a cocktail, try a Raspberry Spritz: 5 cl poured directly into a glass over ice, topped with Crémant de Bourgogne and a splash of sparkling water, garnished with a eau de vie soaked raspberry. It pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts, red fruit tart or sorbet, or makes an original kir when substituted for blackcurrant cream.
