Silky texture wrapping a refined fruitiness, this Premier Cru from the calcaire soils of Les Peuillets expresses the elegant precision that David Croix coaxes from Savigny's finest terroirs.
Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets 2023 – Domaine des Croix
Positioned at the southern entrance to Savigny-lès-Beaune, just at the border with Beaune, the climat Les Peuillets rests on limestone soils mingled with fine clay and small stones, offering terroir particularly favourable to the elegant and precise expression of Pinot Noir. David Croix tends the vineyard with the meticulousness that characterises the domaine: soil observation, yield control, and gentle vinification that preserves aromatic purity and freshness.
The 2023 vintage reveals a fine and nuanced nose, dominated by cherry, raspberry, and a whisper of peony, enriched by subtle spice. The palate stands out for its silky texture, an elegant structure, and delicately refined tannins. The mineral framework gives the wine a precise verticality and a long finish, lightly chalky, typical of this sector at the junction of Beaune and Savigny.
A refined, harmonious and luminous Premier Cru that will express itself fully between 2026 and 2035.
