A very interesting Pommard sector where Domaine Lejeune produces one of its finest cuvées.
Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillières 2023 Domaine Lejeune
With this first vintage orchestrated by Louis de Belleroche, Domaine Lejeune signs a particularly accomplished version of the Argillières, a terroir renowned for its deep clayey soils that produce structured and expressive wines. The domaine's more contemporary style brings new finesse here, increased precision and a clearer reading of the fruit.
The nose opens onto aromas of dark cherry, fresh blackberry and peony, enriched with fine spices and a graphite touch evoking the climate's character. On the palate, the wine unfolds with amplitude but without heaviness: the substance is dense, velvety, animated by a fresh framework that extends the tasting. The tannins, tight but elegant, confirm the seriousness of the cru while retaining great fluidity. The 2023 vintage offers a remarkable balance, combining maturity and tension to create a straight, vibrant Pommard of great aromatic clarity.
A profound and harmonious Premier Cru, already very promising, that will reach its full expression after 8 to 12 years of ageing, when floral, spiced and mineral nuances meld into an even silkier texture.
