Château de Léberon. Armagnac Brut de Fût 1996. Roasted yellow fruits, mirabelle, dried apricot, with remarkable freshness and natural balance.
Armagnac Brut de Fût 1996 Château de Léberon
Made in the heart of Bas-Armagnac in the purest tradition of Gascon craft, the Armagnac Brut de Fût 1996 from Château de Léberon shows the aromatic finesse and depth that long ageing without compromise can offer. Distilled continuously at low temperature, then matured in old Gascon oak casks without reduction, it preserves intact the character of its vintage.
The nose opens onto a precise and luminous palette: roasted yellow fruits, mirabelle, dried apricot, dried flowers and a touch of soft spice. After aeration, deeper notes emerge of honey, natural vanilla, light tobacco and aged wood. The palate, straight and harmonious, reveals a texture at once ample and elegant, sustained by remarkable freshness for an Armagnac of this age. Flavours evolve towards toasted almond, light caramel, orange marmalade and a long finish, subtly spiced, where a fine salinity shines through.
A 1996 vintage of great purity, ideal for lovers of Brut de Fût seeking balance between generosity and tension. Best enjoyed at 18 to 20°C in a tulip glass, alone or at the end of a meal, where it expresses all its precision and natural elegance.
