Margaret River Loin du Clos Malbec 2020 1683 Wines is a singular and bold cuvée born in Western Australia's prestigious Margaret River region. Known worldwide for its fine wines from a temperate climate with European influences, this region offers ideal conditions for balanced, precise and expressive wines. With Loin du Clos, 1683 Wines proposes an original interpretation of Malbec, at the crossroads of viticultural cultures.
This cuvée comes from grapes cultivated with particular attention to ripeness and balance. The 1683 Wines project follows an artisanal and contemporary approach, seeking to produce wines of character, sincere and distinctive in identity, while allowing terroir to express itself fully. The 2020 vintage benefits from fine concentration and great fruit purity.
The nose is intense and seductive, marked by aromas of ripe dark fruits, plum, blackberry and black cherry, accompanied by spice and gently floral notes. The palate is full and structured, with generous substance, silky tannins and lovely freshness that balances the whole. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, underscored by a hint of spice.
This Margaret River Loin du Clos Malbec 2020 pairs beautifully with grilled meats, braised dishes, lamb, beef or spiced cuisine. It can be enjoyed now after aeration, or cellared for a few years to gain complexity.
