A refined Chardonnay from Domaine Agnès Paquet, crafted by one of Côte de Beaune's finest vignerons with remarkable consistency and care.
Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 Domaine Agnès Paquet
Based in Meloisey, in the heights of Côte de Beaune, Agnès Paquet has established herself within a few vintages as one of Burgundy's most elegant and reliable signatures. Since taking over the family domaine in the early 2000s, she has tended her vines with rigour and sensitivity, prioritising measured viticulture, controlled yields and precise, minimalist winemaking. Her style is defined by a constant search for balance, aromatic purity and tension.
This Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 comes from parcels in Côte de Beaune, planted on clay-limestone soils that bring freshness and minerality. The 2023 vintage, sunny yet balanced, delivered ripe fruit whilst retaining natural acidity, the hallmark of the sector's well-exposed, well-ventilated terroirs.
Winemaking is handled with care, respecting the fruit's expression. Ageing, partly in oak, remains restrained, intended to add depth and complexity rather than to mark the wine.
On the nose, the wine reveals delicate white flowers, fresh pear and ripe citrus, lifted by a subtle buttery note and fine, integrated oak. The palate is straight and precise, driven by a supple texture and beautiful mineral tension. The finish is clean and persistent, leaving an elegant saline impression.
A Bourgogne Chardonnay of real precision, perfect as an aperitif, with seafood, grilled fish or creamy poultry. Drink now for its aromatic brightness, or keep 3 to 5 years to gain complexity.
