A fresh and delicately sweet sparkling wine with a beautiful rosé colour from Domaine Alain Renardat-Fache.
Bugey Cerdon Méthode Ancestrale, Domaine Alain Renardat-Fache
Based in Mérignat, at the heart of Bugey, Domaine Alain Renardat-Fache is one of the essential references of the Bugey Cerdon appellation. Farmed with rigour on steep hillsides with argilo-calcareous soils, Gamay and Poulsard vines produce a singular sparkling wine, made using the ancestral method.
This traditional method involves halting fermentation in the vat through cooling, then bottling the wine so that fermentation resumes naturally in bottle, without the addition of a tirage liqueur. The result is a fine and natural effervescence, along with a moderate alcohol level.
The colour is a sustained rosé with raspberry tints, animated by a delicate mousse. The nose opens onto vibrant aromas of strawberry, raspberry and fresh redcurrant. On the palate, the attack is supple and greedy, driven by crunchy fruit and a light sweetness perfectly balanced by lovely freshness. The bubble is fine, ethereal, and extends into a lively, refreshing finish.
This Bugey Cerdon seduces through its balance between greediness and lightness, offering a festive yet precise style, far from any heaviness.
Best enjoyed well chilled, ideally in its youth to enjoy the brilliance of the fruit.
Food pairings: red fruit desserts, strawberry tart, light chocolate cake, but also convivial aperitif. Serving temperature: 6–8°C.
