Fine bubbles, citrus, chalk and delicate floral notes. A champagne from Sélèque, fresh, tense and deeply elegant.
Champagne Quintette Blanc de Blancs JM Sélèque is a distinctive single-vineyard cuvée from this family domaine in Pierry, at the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. Jean-Marc Sélèque and his son Jean-Baptiste have progressively established the house among Champagne's most compelling signatures through meticulous vineyard work and a precisely parcellary approach. The vineyard is cultivated with profound respect for living systems, encouraging biodiversity and measured interventions to reveal the full purity of the terroirs.
Quintette draws from five parcels of Chardonnay situated mainly on the slopes around Épernay, on soils that blend chalk, clay and silt. This mosaic of terroirs brings remarkable complexity to the wine. Vinification takes place partly in barrel, with natural fermentations and ageing on lees, bringing texture and depth while preserving the mineral tension characteristic of great Champagne blancs de blancs.
The wine distinguishes itself through a style that is at once precise, chiseled and generous. The nose opens onto ripe citrus, white flowers, crisp apple and delicate brioche. The palate is ample and energetic, unfolding fine matter carried by gentle effervescence and persistent chalky minerality. The whole offers a champagne of great elegance, both generous and perfectly structured.
A blanc de blancs of character that pairs beautifully with oysters, noble fish, scallop carpaccio or creamed poultry. Thanks to its structure and precision, it may also age gracefully in the cellar for several years.
