Dark cherry, violet, spices and roasted notes. A classic, structured Barolo from Borgogno, with noble tannins and excellent ageing potential.
An expression of one of Piedmont's emblematic great wines, the 2017 Barolo Liste from the legendary Borgogno domaine embodies the power and depth of Nebbiolo in all its nobility.
Sourced from a single parcel on the Lista cru, one of the most prestigious in the commune of Barolo, this wine comes from vines rooted in marly and chalky soils with full southern exposure. The 2017 vintage, marked by heat and low yields, produced a concentrated wine that is both structured and remarkably precise in its aromatics.
After traditional vinification with long fermentation and extended skin contact, the wine was aged for over 4 years in large Slavonian oak foudres, following the domaine's historical method.
The nose opens onto intense notes of dark cherry, dried rose, leather and truffle, underscored by the balsamique character typical of the Lista terroir. The palate is ample and powerful, unfolding a tannin structure of great refinement, supported by lively acidity that gives it balance and longevity. The finish, persistent and refined, reveals hints of blonde tobacco and warm stone.
A Barolo of rare elegance, worth cellaring a few more years to reach its peak, or to enjoy today after lengthy decanting, alongside roasted meat or porcini risotto.
