An emblematic cuvée from domaine Pascal Aufranc, expressing fine Gamay from granite slopes.
Juliénas Les Chers 2022 – Domaine Pascal Aufranc
On the granite slopes of the Juliénas appellation, the "Les Chers" parcel expresses all the finesse of the Gamay cépage in an elegant version, carried by the expertise of vigneron Pascal Aufranc. Cultivation on steep hillsides, hand harvesting and environmentally respectful practices all contribute to revealing a racé wine, marrying gourmandise with precision.
The 2022 vintage seduces with a deep garnet colour tinged with violet. The nose opens onto aromas of cherry, ripe raspberry and delicate spicy touches. On the palate, the attack is frank and fruity, the texture silky, and the finish offers fine persistence, with the mineral nervosity characteristic of the lieu-dit. A cuvée rated 18/20 by a specialist site.
The wine received one star in the 2026 edition of the Hachette Wine Guide, a distinction reserved for "highly successful" wines.
Estimated ageing potential: three to six years.
