Juliénas Les Chers 2022 – Domaine Pascal Aufranc
On the granite hillsides of the Juliénas appellation, the Les Chers plot expresses all the finesse of Gamay in an elegant style, shaped by the expertise of grower Pascal Aufranc. Steep-slope viticulture, hand harvesting and environmentally conscious practices reveal a refined wine that balances generosity with precision.
The 2022 vintage charms with a deep garnet robe and violet glints. The nose opens on aromas of cherry, ripe raspberry and delicate spice. On the palate, the attack is direct and fruity, the texture silky, and the finish offers fine persistence with characteristic mineral tension from the lieu-dit. This cuvée received 18/20 from a specialist review.
The wine earned one star in the 2026 edition of the Hachette Wine Guide, a distinction reserved for wines described as 'very successful'.
