A floral and velvety Gamay. Notes of iris, delicate red fruits, spicy touch. Elegant and refined.
Fleurie Les Roches 2023 – Domaine Lucien Lardy

At the heart of Fleurie's granite slopes, the Les Roches parcel epitomises the airy, floral identity of this emblematic Beaujolais cru. Lucien Lardy cultivates Gamay here with great sensitivity, favouring living soils, controlled yields and gentle tank fermentations to preserve the natural elegance of the terroir. Work by lieu-dit, the domaine's signature, reveals here all the finesse and precision of old vines rooted in granite sand.

The 2023 vintage offers a particularly expressive wine: a nose of peony, fresh cherry and raspberry, lifted by a lightly spicy touch. On the palate, the attack is delicate, almost caressing, then the wine gains amplitude while maintaining remarkable fluidity. The tannins are fine, silky, and the mineral frame brings subtle length that marks the great terroirs of Fleurie. A wine of pure line and charm, both luminous and deeply anchored in its soil.

Already delicious in its youth, it will develop further over three to six years. It proves ideal with roasted poultry, refined vegetable cooking, seasonal terrine or sautéed mushrooms.
