Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc 2023, Domaine Dujac. Pure Chardonnay, taut and mineral with saline precision. Rare elegance from the Côte de Nuits.
Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc 2023, Domaine Dujac
On the slopes of the Côte de Nuits, where white wine is almost a whisper, Domaine Dujac tends a parcel of Chardonnay with remarkable finesse, worked with the rigour and elegance the house is known for. Farmed organically, the vines receive meticulous care; harvest is by hand, and ageing in oak focuses entirely on expressing the soil's purity.
The 2023 vintage shows pale golden colour with green glints, the nose offering ripe pear, white flowers, and a subtle hint of brioche. On the palate, the attack is bright and alive, the body full yet taut, with a thread of saline minerality that deepens and extends the finish. The whole thing carries rare elegance, layering complexity with accessibility, true to Dujac's signature.
A terroir-driven white to enjoy now, though it will deepen beautifully over five to eight years.
