Selection of the week

Summer is a time apart for the vines, most of the work is done and now comes the wait for perfect ripeness before harvest. A time that can also be dangerous, as this week's violent storms reminded us, with hail causing considerable damage, thankfully very localized.

Summer is also a time to discover and explore other worlds. Through the bottles we offer you throughout the year, we love giving you a taste of a certain aesthetic, a certain poetry. So what a pleasure it was to discover this little tetraptych published by Atelier des Noyers: Les Quatre saisons de la vigne (The Four Seasons of the Vine). A light read, weaving Burgundian landscapes under Anne Le Maître's brush with poetic texts by Colette Nys-Mazure (for summer). Four seasons to be savored like a refreshing sip, available in all good bookshops, or to browse cool in the shop.

Craving a little summer sweetness? Meet Chambre d'Amour, a lovely white from the Southwest produced by Lionel Osmin. A blend of local grapes, Ugni Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, it turns out wonderfully indulgent, with residual sugar that's present but discreet. Exotic notes, a freshness brought by the Sauvignon, this is the perfect aperitif wine, crisp, fruity and easy on the wallet.

As you know, we're deeply committed to following domaines over the long term, and since our shop opened more than 20 years ago, many of our early picks are still part of our selection today. This is the case for Domaine Didier Delagrange, where we're delighted to see the children take up the torch with real energy and talent. The wines are gaining in precision thanks to increasingly refined vineyard practices, with biodynamics now guiding the domaine's entire approach, and the cuvées are showing ever more distinctive character. Here is the magnificent 2023 vintage, from the domaine's signature terroir: Volnay, along with their delicious Crémant Blanc de Blancs, wonderfully refined. Please note, some cuvées are now under allocation, so don't wait too long to reserve your bottles!
