Bright and citrussy, with fresh citrus and mineral precision. This Aligoté from Château de Chamilly is taut, saline and thoroughly appealing.
Bourgogne Aligoté 2024, Château de Chamilly
Sourced from vineyards around the château on the clay and limestone terroirs of Côte Chalonnaise, this 2024 Bourgogne Aligoté captures the natural freshness and tension of the variety. The family Desfontaine tends the vineyard with care, working sustainably with particular attention to ripeness and aromatic precision.
The 2024 vintage shows a luminous, sculpted profile. The nose opens with fresh citrus, green apple and white flowers, with a faint iodine note. On the palate, the attack is lively, driven by frank acidity that remains perfectly balanced. The structure stays straight and saline, closing with a clean, refreshing finish.
Vinified in stainless steel to preserve the fruit's brightness and the purity of the cépage, this Aligoté stands out for its balance and drinkability. It is best enjoyed now for its vibrancy, though it will develop added complexity over 2 to 3 years.
Suggested pairings: oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, fresh goat cheese or leisurely aperitif.
Serve at 10–12°C.
