A beloved Pinot Gris from old vines, generous and beautifully balanced with fine sweetness.
Alsace Pinot Gris Le Dauphin VV 2019 Domaine Ernest Burn
Domaine Ernest Burn creates with Le Dauphin Vieilles Vignes 2019 a deep and luminous interpretation of Pinot Gris, rooted in the chalky hillsides of southern Alsace. Born from old vines that transmit natural concentration and perfectly controlled ripeness, this 2019 stands out for its ample, refined and expressive style, faithful to the domaine's signature.
The nose opens onto generous aromas of ripe yellow fruits, juicy pear, dried apricot and light smoky notes, typical of this grape on chalky terroir. A few honeyed and floral touches enrich the whole without heaviness. The palate is ample and velvety, built on dense matter yet beautifully balanced by fresh acidity. The follow-through becomes harmonious, with a lightly spicy and saline finish that brings precision to the wine.
This Pinot Gris Le Dauphin VV 2019 offers great gastronomic versatility: perfect with roasted poultry, seared foie gras, lightly spiced exotic dishes or vegetarian cooking based on squash or mushrooms. The ageing potential is solid: 6 to 10 additional years will allow the wine to develop more complex nuances of preserved fruits, honey and forest floor.
