Maison M's Gentiane sits within the great tradition of alpine root liqueurs, crafted from carefully selected gentian that is slowly macerated to extract all its aromatic complexity. The house favours an artisanal approach, seeking balance between bitter intensity, herbal freshness and measured roundness.
The nose reveals direct notes of root, fresh earth and dried herbs, with a faintly citric touch. On the palate, the attack is crisp and tonic, marked by elegant and structured bitterness, quickly supported by a light sweetness that softens the whole without masking the gentian's authentic character. The finish is long, persistent and intensely herbal.
Best enjoyed chilled as an aperitif, lengthened with a splash of sparkling water, or in a cocktail with dry white wine for an alpine take on the spritz. It can also be savoured neat as a digestif for those who love pronounced amers.
