One of the finest parcels of the appellation, brought to light with elegance by Domaine Pavelot.
Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru Ile des Vergelesses 2022 Domaine Pavelot

An emblematic climat of Pernand's southern slope, Ile des Vergelesses is often considered the jewel of Domaine Pavelot. In 2022, a controlled, sunny vintage, the wine combines depth, freshness, and a natural elegance that characterises the finest reds from the Corton hillside.

The nose expresses itself with intensity on black cherry, ripe raspberry, and a touch of violet, completed by notes of soft spice and a fine ferruginous minerality typical of the climat. The palate is ample and juicy, carried by silky tannins that envelop a brilliant texture without excess. The balance remains remarkable thanks to well-preserved freshness, offering a style that is both charming and precise, very representative of Pavelot's craftsmanship.

A harmonious and vibrant Premier Cru, which can be enjoyed in its youth after decanting, but will gain complexity over 8 to 12 years, revealing then notes of fine undergrowth, black plum, and subtle spice. Ideal with roasted duck breast, veal fillet with morels, or fine poultry.
