A Chardonnay from old vines. Floral, mineral and lightly spiced, precise, tense and elegant, from Domaine Rijckaert.
Arbois En Paradis Vieilles Vignes 2023 Domaine Rijckaert
This cuvée En Paradis 2023 bears witness to Jean Rijckaert's singular craft in the Jura: a quest for pure expression, without artifice, where the precision of ageing highlights the depth of old vines. Planted on the marly-chalky soils emblematic of the appellation, these parcels yield a vibrant wine, nuanced, of great aromatic integrity.
The nose reveals notes of fresh yellow fruits, crisp apple and white flowers, enriched by a mineral touch evoking damp stone. On the palate, the attack is linear and energetic, then the body stretches with natural elegance, supported by fine acidity and savoury minerality. The 2023 vintage brings perfectly measured maturity, offering harmonious volume and great textural precision. The finish, long and saline, confirms the terroir dimension of this cuvée.
An authentic and luminous Arbois, both immediate and serious. Appreciate now for its brilliant purity, or after 5 to 8 years of ageing to reveal deeper nuances of light honey, sweet spices and ripe fruits.
