A fine organic Visan, juicy and spiced, carried by radiant fruit.
Visan La Petite Ourse 2023 is an emblematic cuvée from the work of Pascal Chalon, a vigneron committed to the heights of Visan, in the heart of Vaucluse. Established in organic farming and inspired by biodynamic principles, he crafts living, precise wines deeply rooted in their terroir, with an artisanal and minimalist approach.
Drawn from parcels farmed without chemical inputs, this cuvée rests on a blend dominated by Grenache and completed with Syrah. Clay-limestone soils and a Mediterranean climate tempered by altitude bring balance and freshness. Harvests are manual, fermentations use indigenous yeasts, and ageing favours gentleness to preserve the natural expression of the fruit.
The wine presents a luminous ruby colour. The nose opens onto aromas of crisp red fruits, cherry and raspberry, lifted by notes of sweet spice and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the attack is supple, the fruit juicy and precise, supported by a fresh frame and fine tannins. The whole offers fine drinkability while retaining real depth, the signature of Pascal Chalon's style.
Visan La Petite Ourse 2023 pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted poultry, simple stews or terroir cooking with Provençal touches. Accessible from today, it can also evolve harmoniously over 5 to 6 years, gaining complexity without losing its appeal.
A Côtes-du-Rhône Villages of character, sincere and precise, perfectly reflecting the domaine's natural and exacting philosophy.
