Japanese blend bottled at natural strength.
Whisky Nikka From the Barrel
Founded by Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer of Japanese whisky trained in Scotland, Nikka is today one of Japan's leading whisky houses. Nikka From the Barrel perfectly illustrates this mastery of blending, combining malts and grain whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, then married and returned to cask for harmonisation before bottling at cask strength.
Bottled at 51.4%, this whisky stands out for its controlled power and remarkable balance. The blending work aims to concentrate the aromas while preserving precision and complexity.
On the nose, it reveals intense notes of spice, ripe pear, baked apple and caramel, accompanied by nuances of oak, vanilla and a subtle floral touch. The palate is ample and structured, marked by fine aromatic richness, yellow fruits, soft spices, toffee and perfectly integrated woodiness. The alcohol, well-integrated, supports the texture without dominating. The finish is long, warming and elegantly spiced.
A whisky of character and balance, to be savoured neat or with a touch of water to reveal its full aromatic complexity.
