Great concentration with the elegance characteristic of the finest terroirs of northern Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Chaignots 2013 Domaine Alain Michelot
A historic domaine of Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Michelot family has tended its vines with constancy and precision, seeking above all the faithful expression of each climat. The house style rests on balance, purity of fruit and controlled structure, allowing the wines to traverse time with elegance.
The 1er Cru Aux Chaignots sits to the north of the appellation, at the boundary with Vosne-Romanée. This terroir, renowned for its finesse, rests on well-drained clay-limestone soils that produce refined Pinot Noirs, more elegant than powerful, often marked by great aromatic distinction.
The 2013 vintage, cooler and later-ripening, gave rise to structured wines with beautiful acidity and a classic profile built for cellaring. After more than ten years of evolution, this premier cru is beginning to reveal its full complexity.
On the palate, the nose develops aromas of black cherry, redcurrant and undergrowth, accompanied by notes of gentle spice, fine leather and a slightly smoky touch. The palate offers a silky texture, sustained by silky tannins and a frame still fresh that extends the finish with elegance and depth.
A refined and harmonious Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru, ideal with a beef filet, game birds or braised dishes. To be appreciated now at perfect maturity, with a few more years of cellaring possible.
