Ripe dark fruits, spices and forest floor on a vintage of full maturity. A structured and profound Premier Cru with a long, lingering finish.
Domaine Alain Michelot stands as an essential reference for Nuits-Saint-Georges, cultivating beautiful parcels in the heart of the Côte de Nuits with consistent precision. Faithful to a demanding traditional approach, the domaine favours meticulous vineyard work and unobtrusive vinification, allowing each climat to fully express its identity. Ageing is conducted with restraint, seeking balance between structure, depth and finesse.
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru La Richemone 2018 comes from one of the appellation's most celebrated Premier Crus, situated to the north of the village on deep argilo-calcareous soils that produce refined, structured wines suited to long ageing. The sunny and generous 2018 vintage offered perfectly ripe grapes while preserving the acidity essential for balance.
The nose reveals an intense palette of black cherry, blackberry and plum, completed by liquorice, sweet spices and a lightly smoky note. On the palate, the texture is ample and dense, supported by powerful yet polished tannins. The structure is solid, perfectly balanced by persistent freshness that extends the finish with spicy and mineral nuances.
A great food wine, it will pair beautifully with roasted game, aged beef or mushroom-based dishes. Already expressive after a few years of evolution, it has a drinking window of 15 to 20 years, during which it will gain in complexity and refinement.
