Domaine Dujac's 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes opens with dark cherry, violet, and forest floor. Polished tannins and frank minerality carry this wine with understated power.
Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes 2023, Domaine Dujac

High on the slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, the Aux Combottes parcel overlooks the Vallée de la Vouge, a remarkable terroir of clay-gravel soils with iron, offering Pinot Noir remarkable complexity. Domaine Dujac, repeatedly recognized for blending Burgundian tradition with contemporary rigour, tends these vines with care, harvests by hand, and vinifies with a master's precision.

The 2023 vintage speaks with compelling clarity. The nose opens onto dark cherry, violet, and raspberry, lifting toward subtle notes of forest floor, humus, and flint. On the palate, the wine shows substance yet effortless elegance: polished tannins, a clean mineral line, and a finish that stretches across cocoa, wild blackberry, and graphite. A wine of real depth, marrying immediate appeal with remarkable cellaring potential.

Drinking window: 8 to 15 years, longer still for those who prefer mature Burgundy.
