Ripe dark fruits, spices and forest floor on a vintage of maturity. Structured and profound Premier Cru, with a long finish.
Domaine Alain Michelot, an essential reference in Nuits-Saint-Georges, cultivates superb parcels in the heart of the Côte de Nuits with consistency and precision. Faithful to a demanding traditional approach, the domaine privileges meticulous vineyard work and minimalist vinifications, allowing each climat to fully express its identity. Ageing is conducted with restraint, seeking balance between structure, depth and finesse.
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru La Richemone 2018 comes from one of the appellation's most renowned Premier Crus, located north of the village on deep clay-limestone soils that yield refined, structured wines with fine ageing potential. The 2018 vintage, sunny and generous, produced perfectly ripe fruit while retaining the bright acidity essential to balance.
The nose reveals an intense palette of black cherry, blackberry and plum, complemented by liquorice, sweet spices and a lightly smoky touch. On the palate, the wine is ample and dense, supported by powerful yet polished tannins. The structure is solid, perfectly balanced by persistent freshness that extends the finish with spicy and mineral notes.
A great gastronomic wine, it will pair beautifully with roasted game, aged beef or mushroom-based sauces. Already expressive after a few years of evolution, it possesses a cellaring potential of 15 to 20 years, during which it will gain in complexity and refinement.
