Domaine Courbet's traditional Jura spirit, where fresh grape must marries oak-aged marc in a refined and balanced aperitif.
Macvin du Jura, Domaine Courbet
In the heart of the Revermont, the Jura's limestone and marl heartland, Domaine Courbet preserves with rigour the traditional arts of Jura wine and spirits. Committed to viticulture that respects natural balance, the family cultivates its vines with precision to safeguard the identity of these marl-limestone terroirs that shape the domaine's signature.
Macvin du Jura stands as one of the region's great specialities. It is born from the assembly of fresh grape must and Marc de Bourgogne aged in oak cask for at least 18 months. At Domaine Courbet, it is crafted principally from Chardonnay, offering a refined, well-balanced and generous expression of this emblematic grape spirit.
The colour is a beautiful sustained gold with amber highlights, announcing an intense nose of dried fruits, honey, fig, fresh grape and light caramel. On the palate, the texture is ample and silky, perfectly balanced by a freshness that avoids any heaviness. Aromas of candied fruits, almond and soft spices extend through a long and harmonious finish.
Serve slightly chilled, around 8 to 10°C. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with foie gras, aged Comté, nut-based desserts or dried fruit tarts. It can also be cellared for many years and evolve towards more complex rancio notes.
