Fresh and citrus-driven, with bright acidity and mineral notes. Domaine Matrot's Aligoté is precise and elegant, taut, saline, and deeply refreshing.
The Bourgogne Aligoté 2023 from Domaine Matrot comes from a family estate in Meursault, known for its great white wines and the purity of fruit and terroir character that define its production. A crisp and frank white in service of a grape variety that yields pleasant, thirst-quenching and salivating wines.

Terroir and vineyard

Domaine Matrot tends its vines around Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, on ancestral family land. The vineyard has been managed with reasoned practices since 2000, featuring soil cultivation, organic matter, careful bud selection, green harvesting when needed, and close attention to ripeness, as only ripe and healthy grapes yield quality wine. Winemaking uses indigenous yeasts from a pied de cuve prepared days before harvest, with long fermentations at controlled temperatures and meticulous care for hygiene and lees selection.

Tasting profile

The colour is pale yellow with green glints. The nose is fresh, with lemon, citrus and white flowers. The palate is lively and frank, refreshing, with fine tension and a clean, mineral finish that invites another glass.

The domaine

A family estate since 1835, based at 12 rue de Martray in Meursault, Domaine Matrot is now in the hands of the sixth generation, Adèle and Elsa Matrot, daughters of Thierry and Pascale, who safeguard the quality of vineyard management, winemaking, ageing and sales. The domaine works with Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Auxey Duresses, Blagny and Volnay, as well as white and red Bourgogne, all pursued with the same spirit of precision and elegance.

Food pairings

This Aligoté pairs well with shellfish, snails, gougères, charcuterie or fresh goat cheese. It is also traditionally enjoyed with a splash of Burgundy blackcurrant liqueur for a Kir. Served around 10°C, it is best enjoyed in its youth for its freshness.

Specific details such as the vineyard parcel, vine age, exact ageing and alcohol content are best verified directly with the domaine.
