Gamay on volcanic soils. Intense red fruits, spice and minerality. Powerful, deep, and expressive.
Côte-de-Brouilly "La Fournaise du Pérou" 2023, Domaine Robert Perroud
On the volcanic hillsides of Mont Brouilly, the parcel "La Fournaise du Pérou" embodies all the energy of this cru: andesite, schist and granite soils, steep southwest exposure, controlled yields. At Domaine Robert Perroud, viticulture is conducted with care, by hand, with respect for the environment, to capture the granite imprint and vitality of the Gamay variety.
The 2023 vintage reveals a deep and seductive wine: on the nose, a palette of ripe dark fruits, griottines, then more spiced and smoky notes, the volcanic signature of the terroir. On the palate, the structure is ample and well-built, yet endowed with beautiful mineral freshness that extends the finish and gives it fine persistence. The style is refined, mouthwatering, and marked by a granite hillside spirit.
This cru shows an estimated ageing potential of around 7 years or more in good conditions.
