Vibrant and elegant, Domaine Agnès Paquet's Les Hoz blends freshness, aromatic richness and perfect balance. Chardonnay from well-exposed clay-limestone slopes, aged partly in oak with precision and restraint.
Auxey-Duresses Blanc Les Hoz 2024 Domaine Agnès Paquet
At Meloisey, on the edge of Auxey-Duresses, Agnès Paquet shapes wines of great precision, guided by demanding viticulture and profound respect for terroir. Each cuvée reflects a faithful reading of the climat, through measured vinification and ageing always in service of balance.
The Les Hoz parcel, situated on a well-exposed slope in Auxey-Duresses, rests on clay-limestone soils that give Chardonnay tension and depth. The 2024 vintage, marked by slow and regular maturation, yields a slender wine, at once pure and structured.
Fermentation and ageing, partly in barrel, proceed with subtlety to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the natural minerality of the terroir. The oak, finely integrated, brings relief and complexity without dominating the whole.
On the nose, white flowers, fresh pear and citrus open, accompanied by a delicate hint of almond and fresh butter. The palate stands out for its precision and tension, supported by harmonious substance and fine energy. The finish, long and saline, underscores the elegant character of the climat.
An Auxey-Duresses blanc of great exactness, ideal with shellfish, roasted sea bass, creamed poultry or aged Comté. Drink young for its vibrant freshness or keep 6 to 8 years to reveal its full complexity.
