A rare white Marsannay crafted with considerable talent, showing beautiful white fruits and a discreet note of oak.
The Marsannay blanc Cuvée Charlie 2023 from Domaine Charles Audoin perfectly illustrates the precision and refinement that define the reputation of this emblematic domaine in the northern Côte de Nuits. The Audoin family has worked for several generations to reveal all the potential of Marsannay's terroirs, tending their vines with rigour in an approach that respects the environment, so as to preserve the purity of fruit and the identity of the soils.
The cuvée Charlie, drawn from carefully selected parcels, showcases a Chardonnay that is both luminous and finely chiselled. Precise vinification and measured ageing accompany the wine without masking the natural freshness of the vintage and the mineral signature of Marsannay's terroirs.
The nose opens onto elegant aromas of ripe lemon, fresh pear and white flowers, completed by delicate notes of flint and a lightly buttered touch. The palate is straight and well-balanced, carried by fine tension and elegant substance that stretches towards a saline and persistent finish.
A refined and precise Marsannay blanc, ideal at table with grilled fish, shellfish or creamed poultry, and one that will evolve harmoniously in the cellar for five to eight years.
