A luminous expression of white fruit, refined by thoughtful ageing. Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer's Chardonnay from the Hautes Côtes reveals mineral precision and natural tension.
The Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc 2023 from Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer is a Chardonnay from the higher hillsides of the Côte de Nuits, where altitude and clay-limestone soils bring freshness and precision to the wine. Based in Magny-lès-Villers, Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer tends its vines with care to preserve the natural balance of the grapes and reveal all the finesse of this still-discreet Burgundian terroir.
Vinification is handled with delicacy to conserve the aromatic purity of the Chardonnay. Measured ageing then structures the wine while respecting the expression of fruit and the natural tension brought by the Hautes Côtes climate.
The 2023 vintage reveals a luminous and expressive wine, marked by aromas of white flowers, crisp apple and fresh pear, accompanied by citrus notes and a subtle mineral touch. On the palate, it is direct and well-balanced, carried by lovely freshness and a supple texture that gives relief to the structure.
The finish is clean and persistent, prolonging notes of fresh fruit with a very pleasant saline sensation. A precise and approachable Chardonnay, ideal as an aperitif, with shellfish, grilled fish, light poultry or fresh cheeses. It can be enjoyed now for its brightness, while developing harmoniously over a few years.
