Porto Fine Tawny Quinta do Tedo
Nestled at the confluence of the Douro and the Tedo river, Quinta do Tedo is a family estate renowned for the precision and elegance of its Ports. The vines, planted on steep, schistous hillsides, benefit from optimal sun exposure and attentive work in the vineyard that favours ripeness and concentration. Traditional vinifications, often in lagares, allow the extraction of richness and structure, followed by ageing tailored to the desired style.
The Fine Tawny is made from traditional Douro grape varieties, then aged in oak casks for several years. This gradual oxidative ageing gives it its characteristic amber hue and a more evolved and nuanced aromatic palette than Ruby styles.
On tasting, the nose reveals aromas of dried fruits, walnut and almond, accompanied by notes of caramel, fig and sweet spices. The palate is supple and harmonious, marked by a lovely roundness and a sweetness balanced by a discreet freshness. The finish, elegant and lightly toasted, extends the nuances of dried fruits and brown sugar.
A refined and approachable Port, ideal at the end of a meal, with a nut dessert, a dried fruit tart or a mature cheese. Serve slightly chilled to reveal its full finesse.
