Complex and remarkably long on the palate.
Porto Fine Tawny Quinta do Tedo
Nestled at the confluence of the Douro and the Tedo river, Quinta do Tedo is a family property recognised for the precision and elegance of its Portos. The vines, planted on steep schistous hillsides, benefit from optimal sunlight and careful work that favours maturity and concentration. Traditional vinifications, often in lagares, extract richness and structure, followed by ageing suited to the desired style.
The Fine Tawny is crafted from the traditional grape varieties of the Douro, then aged in oak casks for several years. This progressive oxidative ageing gives it its characteristic amber colour and a more evolved, nuanced aromatic palette than Ruby Portos.
On the nose, aromas of dried fruits, walnuts and almonds emerge, accompanied by notes of caramel, fig and soft spices. The palate is supple and harmonious, marked by fine roundness and sweetness balanced by a discreet freshness. The finish, elegant and lightly toasted, extends the dried fruit and brown sugar nuances.
A refined and approachable Porto, ideal at the close of a meal, with a nut dessert, dried fruit tart or aged cheese. Serve lightly chilled to reveal its full finesse.
