Distilled in 2008, cask no. 751 has produced collector's bottles of remarkable depth and complexity.
A confidential and highly expressive cuvée, Aleksé Single Cask 2008 embodies the full artisanal and visionary dimension of Michel Couvreur's work. Born from a single cask carefully selected, this 2008 vintage whisky was distilled in Scotland then aged at length in Burgundian cellars, where time and the choice of wood shape a singular identity, without compromise.
The nose is deep and complex, opening onto notes of dried fruits, dates, figs and walnuts, quickly enriched by aromas of leather, blonde tobacco and fine spices. With aeration, nuances of cocoa, coffee and preserved fruits emerge, in a rich yet always precise register.
The palate is ample, dense and perfectly structured, with a silky texture carried by flavours of prune, dark chocolate, liquorice and macerated fruits. The ageing, masterfully controlled, brings a noble patina without ever dominating the distillate, allowing a beautiful freshness to emerge in the background.
The finish is long and persistent, marked by spiced notes, lightly roasted character and an elegant bitterness that extends the experience. Aleksé Single Cask 2008 speaks to lovers of whiskies of great depth, where every detail reveals the precision of the cask and the unique signature of Michel Couvreur.
