An elegant and accessible red in its youth, combining fruit, freshness and charm. A fine expression of Épineuil terroir from Domaine Dominique Gruhier.
Domaine Dominique Gruhier is an essential reference in the Tonnerrois and the Bourgogne Épineuil appellation, in northern Burgundy, at the border of the Chablisien. Established on limestone slopes rich in Kimmeridgian marls, the domaine conducts its vineyard in organic and biodynamic agriculture, with precise soil work and a constant search for authenticity. The objective is clear: to reveal the freshness, directness and singular personality of this still-confidential northern terroir.
The Bourgogne Épineuil 2023, made from Pinot Noir, embodies this identity. From parcels planted on fresh clay-limestone soils, it benefits from slow maturation that favours balance between fruit and tension. Vinifications are conducted with gentleness, favouring measured extraction and discreet ageing to preserve the purity of the vintage.
The nose reveals frank notes of crisp red fruits, cherry and raspberry, lifted by a floral touch and lightly spiced character. On the palate, the texture is supple and elegant, supported by fine tannins and beautiful vivacity that brings length and precision. The whole offers a luminous Pinot Noir, at once charming and structured, marked by the characteristic freshness of Épineuil.
To enjoy from now for its bright fruit or to keep 5 to 7 years to gain depth. It will pair beautifully with roasted poultry, a veal dish, artisanal terrine or refined bistro cuisine.
