Expressive and sun-filled, blending ripe dark fruit, sweet spices and supple tannins, with a fresh and well-balanced finish.
The Nero d'Avola Argille Tagghia Via 2023 from Cantina di Canicattì is an authentic and generous expression of Sicily's emblematic grape variety, sourced from the Agrigento region in the south of the island. A historic cooperative founded in 1969, Cantina di Canicattì draws on a vast heritage of old vines and refined knowledge of local terroirs to produce characterful and approachable wines.

The Argille Tagghia Via cuvée draws its character from predominantly clay soils, rich and deep, which give the Nero d'Avola concentration, structure and aromatic intensity. The warm Mediterranean climate, tempered by sea breezes, allows optimal grape ripeness while maintaining fine balance. Vinifications are conducted with precision to preserve fruit purity and the typicity of the variety.

The nose opens onto intense aromas of black cherry, ripe plum and blackberry, accompanied by spicy and lightly balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine is full and warm, driven by dense matter, well-present but balanced tannins, and a persistent finish with Mediterranean accents.

A characterful Nero d'Avola, sun-filled yet controlled, that will pair beautifully with grilled meats, sauced dishes, Sicilian aubergines or spice-forward cuisine. Drink now or cellar for 4 to 6 years to gain complexity.
