Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge 2023 from Domaine Rollin comes from a family vineyard deeply rooted in this understated yet remarkable village on the Côte de Beaune, nestled at the foot of the Corton hillside. For generations, the Rollin family has tended their parcels with precision and consistency, seeking to reveal the full finesse of Pernand-Vergelesses terroir through wines that are elegant, balanced, and true to their origin.
The Pinot Noir vines flourish on the argilo-calcareous soils typical of the appellation, benefiting from ideal exposure that allows steady ripening while preserving good freshness. Work in the vineyard prioritises controlled yields and respectful environmental practice. In the cellar, winemaking remains classical and unobtrusive, with gentle extraction and ageing in oak designed to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression.
The 2023 reveals a delicate nose of fresh cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, accompanied by subtle floral notes and a light spicy touch. The palate is fine and balanced, driven by crunchy fruit, supple tannins and a refreshing line that brings precision and elegance. The finish is clean and harmonious, reflecting the airy, refined character of Pernand Pinot Noir.
