A mineral tension that carries the signature of Meursault with real elegance. Domaine Roulot brings precision and purity to this Bourgogne Chardonnay.
The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 from Domaine Roulot represents one of the most sought-after entry points into this legendary Meursault domaine. Under the direction of Jean-Marc Roulot, the domaine has established itself as a genuine reference in Burgundy through wines of remarkable precision, where the purity of fruit and terroir expression take priority over any show of power.
Sourced from parcels situated mainly around Meursault, this Bourgogne Chardonnay receives the same meticulous attention as the domaine's higher appellations. The vines are tended with rigour to preserve the natural balance of the fruit, and winemaking remains very hands-off. The ageing is precise and restrained, privileging the expression of Chardonnay and freshness over oak influence.
The 2023 vintage offers a particularly luminous and focused wine. The nose opens onto aromas of fresh citrus, crisp apple and white flowers, with a faint brioche note. The palate stands out for its purity, tension and balance, with fine material and lovely mineral energy that extends through the finish.
This Bourgogne Chardonnay perfectly illustrates the Roulot style, a straight, elegant white of real drinking pleasure, capable of standing alongside many more prestigious appellations.
At table, it pairs beautifully with grilled fish, shellfish, scallops, roasted poultry or pressed-curd cheeses. Accessible in its youth for its bright fruit, it will also develop harmoniously over 5 to 8 years.
