Mineral and tense, with citrus, peach and floral notes from warm limestone. This Riesling from the Bollenberg, signed Domaine Camille Braun, is precise and vibrant, fresh, saline and very elegant.
The Riesling Bollenberg 2024 from Domaine Camille Braun is a Riesling of luminous tension, all lemon, stone and salinity, leaner than round. The Riesling here speaks the language of the Bollenberg hill: pale stone, light, wind. An aerial wine that favours clear lines over richness, and gains complexity over time rather than volume.

Terroir and vineyard

The Bollenberg is a dry hillside at the heart of a nature reserve, south of Colmar. The Riesling comes from three parcels on the south and south-east facing slopes, planted on an argilo-calcareous terroir where slope, wind and limestone keep the wine alert. Here you find restrained tension, a mineral echo, disciplined energy. The vines are certified biodynamic. Winemaking follows the Demeter charter, with temperature-controlled fermentation on indigenous yeasts and ageing on fine lees until bottling. Dry wine: 12% vol., 0.5 g/l residual sugar, 5.8 g/l tartaric acidity.

Tasting profile

The robe is a pale crystalline yellow. The nose is floral, with citrus notes and delicate minerality. The palate is light and tense, all lemon, stone and salinity, with a beautiful spicy finish.

The domaine

Domaine Camille Braun is a family estate rooted in Orschwihr, at the foot of Grand Ballon, where the Braun family has grown vines since 1953, with winemaking traditions reaching back to the 17th century. Christophe and Chantal Braun, helped by their children, have managed around fifteen hectares in organic and biodynamic farming since 2005, on soils of limestone, sandstone and volcanic rock, with parcels in Grand Crus such as Pfingstberg and Kaefferkopf.

Food pairing

This Riesling pairs beautifully with grilled fish, white meat, fresh vegetables, poultry, salad or goat's cheese. Served between 8 and 12°C, it can be enjoyed now or kept for five to eight years.
