Domaine des Bernardins crafts a generous Muscat with notes of dried fruits and honey, from the slopes of Beaumes-de-Venise in the southern Rhône.
The Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise 2024 from Domaine des Bernardins comes from one of the historic and emblematic estates of this appellation in the southern Rhône valley. The Castaud family carries on a craft passed down through generations, cultivating Muscat à Petits Grains on the clay-limestone and sandy slopes surrounding the village of Beaumes-de-Venise, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
Grapes are harvested at full ripeness to preserve the aromatic richness of the variety. Fermentation is stopped by fortification, a traditional technique that retains the natural sugars of the grape while maintaining a lovely freshness.
The 2024 vintage reveals an intensely aromatic nose mingling fresh apricot, white peach, muscat grape and orange blossom, accompanied by delicate notes of honey and candied citrus. The palate is ample and generous, perfectly balanced by a lovely tension that brings freshness and lightness to the whole. The finish is long, perfumed and particularly elegant.
A luminous and expressive fortified wine, ideal as an aperitif, with foie gras, fruit-based desserts or simply as a moment of indulgence.
