A cuvée from a magnificent granite terroir, with brilliant minerality.
Muscadet Sèvre & Maine « L d'Or » 2023 – Domaine Luneau-Papin
Certified organic and biodynamic, this exceptional cuvée from Domaine Luneau-Papin comes from vines planted in 1984 on a hillside of granite and two-mica gneiss, in the village of Vallet.
Vinification combines spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, followed by 21 months of ageing distributed across three types of vessels: Austrian oak foudre, Italian terracotta amphora, and underground concrete tank with glass tiles.
On the nose, a pale yellow colour with slight green reflections reveals aromas of white flowers, green apple and citrus, underpinned by an impression of wet stone and iodine.
The palate unfolds with an elegant structure, marked by freshness and saline minerality, followed by a long, crystalline finish that suggests fine ageing potential from 2029-2035.
Rating from a major guide: 95/100 for the 2023 vintage.
