A wine of roundness and grace, with perfectly judged oak ageing.
Savigny-lès-Beaune Dessus les Vermots 2023 Domaine Isabelle Doudet
At the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Isabelle Doudet cultivates its parcels with particular attention to terroir precision and fruit purity. The Dessus les Vermots climat, situated on the heights of Savigny-lès-Beaune, benefits from well-drained clay-limestone soils that bring finesse, freshness and elegance to Pinot Noir.
The 2023 vintage, luminous and well-balanced, reveals controlled ripeness while retaining tension and vivacity. Vinification is conducted gently to preserve the natural aromatic expression of the grape, while measured and precise ageing in oak accompanies the structure without dominating the wine.
The colour is brilliant ruby with purple reflections. The nose opens to clear aromas of red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, accompanied by delicate floral notes and a lightly spicy touch. On the palate, the attack is supple and fresh, carried by fine tannins and beautiful energy. The whole seduces through its balance and finesse, with an elegant and slightly mineral finish.
Serve around 15–16°C after light aeration. It will pair beautifully with roasted poultry, beef fillet or delicate braised dishes. Best enjoyed over 8 to 12 years to fully appreciate its evolution and growing complexity.
