Zero dosage, fine and persistent bubbles. Citrus, chalk and delicate brioche. Absolute freshness.
Champagne Zéro Brut Nature from Maison Tarlant
A family house established in Œuilly in the Vallée de la Marne since 1687, Maison Tarlant embodies an artisanal and demanding vision of champagne. Generation after generation, the family has defended a parcel-focused and minimal intervention approach, prioritising grape maturity, soil expression and precise vinification. Work in the vineyard is conducted with great respect for the living world, and each cuvée seeks above all to express terroir without artifice.
The Zéro Brut Nature cuvée is emblematic of this philosophy. Crafted without any dosage, it rests on an assemblage of the three Champagne varieties, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier, complemented according to the base wine by very small proportions of older varieties. The grapes come from varied soils of the Vallée de la Marne, blending chalk, clays and sands, bringing both tension, depth and complexity. Vinification combines stainless steel and reserve wines aged in oak, bringing structure and precision without masking the purity of the wine.
On tasting, Champagne Zéro displays great directness. The nose expresses itself through notes of fresh citrus, green apple, white fruits and fresh bread, with a very clear mineral framework. The palate is lively, tense, perfectly dry, carried by fine effervescence and chiselled acidity. The finish is long, saline, of great clarity, leaving an impression of remarkable purity and precision.
This Brut Nature champagne appeals to lovers of direct and authentic wines. It is best enjoyed as an aperitif for its freshness, but reveals its full gastronomic dimension at table, with oysters, seafood, raw fish or iodised dishes. Drink young for its energy, though it can age for several years in the cellar to gain in complexity.
A wine of conviction, without compromise, that expresses with exactness the Tarlant style, precise, sincere and resolutely rooted in terroir.
