A high hillside parcel bringing finesse and elegance to this Pinot Noir from Domaine Delagrange.
Pommard Les Vaumuriens Hauts 2022 Domaine Didier Delagrange
Based in Volnay, Domaine Didier Delagrange tends its vines with rigour across the finest climates of the Côte de Beaune. The climat Les Vaumuriens Hauts, situated at altitude above the Rugiens, rests on stony, limestone-rich soils that drain exceptionally well, bringing tension, finesse and straightness to the Pinot Noir.
The 2022 vintage, sunny and well-balanced, achieved beautiful ripeness while preserving freshness and precision. Parcel-by-parcel vinification and measured ageing in oak accompany the wine without masking the pure expression of terroir.
The colour is deep ruby and brilliant. The nose reveals intense aromas of dark cherry, ripe raspberry and redcurrant, completed by floral notes and a delicately spiced, woody touch. On the palate, the attack is frank and structured, supported by present but fine tannins. The balance between power and elegance characterises this cuvée, with a long, fresh and gently mineral finish.
Serve around 16°C after light aeration. It will pair beautifully with game birds, rib of beef, duck breast or braised dishes. Its ageing potential extends over 10 to 15 years, gaining in complexity and depth with time.
